中文: 耶稣过去的时候,看见一个人生来是瞎眼的。
英文: And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

中文: 门徒问耶稣说,拉比,这人生来是瞎眼的,是谁犯了罪,是这人呢,是他父母呢。
英文: And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

中文: 耶稣回答说,也不是这人犯了罪,也不是他父母犯了罪,是要在他身上显出神的作为来。
英文: Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

中文: 趁着白日,我们必须作那差我来者的工。黑夜将到,就没有人能作工了。
英文: I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

英文: The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

英文: Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

英文: Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

中文: 他回答说,有一个人名叫耶稣。他和泥抹我的眼睛,对我说,你往西罗亚池子去洗。我去一洗,就看见了。
英文: He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

英文: Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

中文: 法利赛人中有的说,这个人不是从神来的,因为他不守安息日。又有人说,一个罪人怎能行这样的神迹呢。他们就起了分争。
英文: Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

中文: 他们又对瞎子说,他既然开了你的眼睛,你说他是怎样的人呢。他说,是个先知。
英文: They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

中文: 犹太人不信他从前是瞎眼,后来能看见的,等到叫了他的父母来,
英文: But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

英文: And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

中文: 他父母回答说,他是我们的儿子,生来就瞎眼,这是我们知道的。
英文: His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

中文: 至于他如今怎吗能看见,我们却不知道。是谁开了他的眼睛,我们也不知道。他已经成了人,你们问他吧。他自己必能说。
英文: But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

中文: 他父母说这话,是怕犹太人,因为犹太人已经商议定了,若有认耶稣是基督的,要把他赶出会堂。
英文: These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

英文: Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

中文: 所以法利赛人第二次叫了那从前瞎眼的人来,对他说,你该将荣耀归给神。我们知道这人是个罪人。
英文: Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

中文: 他说,他是个罪人不是,我不知道。有一件事我知道,从前我是眼瞎的,如今能看见了。
英文: He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

英文: Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?

中文: 他回答说,我方才告诉你们,你们不听。为什么又要听呢。莫非你们也要作他的门徒吗。
英文: He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

中文: 他们就骂他说,你是他的门徒。我们是摩西的门徒。
英文: Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

中文: 神对摩西说话,是我们知道的。只是这个人,我们不知道他从那里来。
英文: We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

中文: 那人回答说,他开了我的眼睛,你们竟不知道他从那里来,这真是奇怪。
英文: The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

英文: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

英文: Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

英文: He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

中文: 耶稣说,你已经看见他,现在和你说话的就是他。
英文: And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

英文: And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
